The Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community will lead a seminar focusing on the status of BIM in the architecture industry and how local practitioners in Columbus have implemented BIM into their design process. This seminar will also provide practical examples of how these firms are leveraging their intelligent building information models across the building’s lifecycle to benefit all project stakeholders, including sub-consultants, contractors, and owners
2 AIA Learning Units.
- Attendees will examine the possibility of new relationships between designers, consultants, and contractors and evaluate how the use of BIM among design and construction teams can enhance the design process and the built environment.
- Attendees will summarize the current status of BIM in the design/construction industry and identify where the integration of BIM in their own studios can enhance the design of their buildings.
- Attendees will explore the collaboration aspects of BIM, and recognize the value BIM collaboration brings to the MEP/Structural consultant, enhancing the built environment for clients.
- Attendees will recognize the value of visualization provided by BIM software, enhancing the value of services rendered to clients, and providing new ways of visualizing data, metrics and systems to create more efficient, thoughtfully designed buildings.
