CLASSIFICATION PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Residential Building Official classification is to implement and enforce all national, state, and local codes applicable to an Ohio Board of Building Standards of a certified building department and local building department and reviewing and revising the Building Code as needed to ensure conformance with standards. JOB DUTIES: Serve as the Building Official and Residential Building Official of a certified building department and certified residential building department. Review building plans and inspections for compliance with applicable national, state, and local codes. Resolve code interpretation differences and problems concerning building plan reviews or inspections among architects, engineers, contractors, and staff. Provide guidance and supervision to Building Department Staff. Confers with the Assistant Director, fire prevention officials, state officials, and others regarding code application, interpretation and consistency. Perform required Residential Building Official activities per the Residential Building Code of Ohio/2019 Ohio Residential Code. Perform Electrical and/or HVAC/mechanical inspections as requested by Franklin County residents. Perform residential plan reviews. Write adjudication orders regarding one, two and three family dwellings and all buildings regulated under the Ohio Building Code. Sign off on violations and interfaces with the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office in enforcement actions. Verify and sign off on all Certificates of Occupancy. Utilize Mobile system to enter and track permits/inspections. Write proposals for revising and improving Building Department procedures and submits them to the Director and Assistant Director for approval. Prepare end of the month report to Director and Assistant Director that outlines all building activity. Prepare Monthly Assessment Reports as required by the State Board of Building Standards, as well as, the yearly state report for the inspections and plans examination section. Prepare annual report to the Board of Commissioners and general public. May serve on committees at local, state and national levels to develop and implement changes to existing codes. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid State of Ohio certificate as an Architect or registered Professional Engineer.

What You’ll Contribute to OHM Advisors

Senior Interior Designer provides leadership to the teams’ design, documentation, and deliverables process through collaboration with all disciplines.  With a passion for always looking for better ways of improving solutions to our client’s needs, your approach to the development of projects and integration with other team individuals is important to the overall success of the firm. Interior Designer will be assisting project design teams to get interior projects completed. The person filling this position will work most closely with the Columbus Architectural team but may also engage with broader project teams across the firm. 

Your Responsibilities

·         Assist with leading the development of professional interior design packages and presentations.

·         Assist with leading the development of construction documentation, Finishes, FFE and bid set packages.

·         Responsible for managing project task budgets, work plans, consultants, and schedules with Project Manager.

·         Assist with initiating and maintaining contact with other key Project / Program Lead individuals for clarification, coordination, and negotiation of critical issues with Project Manager.

·         Demonstrate creative abilities coupled with efficient and pragmatic problem-solving skills

·         Assist the team with resource library updates, project binders, presentation boards, and other presentation materials.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

·         Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture (professional degree).

·         Minimum 10 years of experience

·         Must have experience in healthcare interior design and furniture planning. Experience with major healthcare organizations in Central Ohio is preferred.

·         Non-licensed candidates should be eligible for licensure, with intent to pursue preferred.

·         Must be experienced in architectural design, detailing, and documentation of the new building and renovation projects.

·         Must be able to demonstrate strong project organizational skills to document management and tracking and must be self-motivated.

·         Must be able to document and present work through hand sketching, computer drafting, and other innovative methods to team & clients clearly and concisely.

·         Must be able to work well with clients, staff, and coordinate consultants.

·         Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Adobe Creative Suite proficiency is preferred.
