2021 Board of Directors Nominations

Become a Leader

Nominations for the 2021 AIA Columbus Board of Directors are now being accepted. The following positions on the board are open this year:

  • President-elect
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • 3 Director Positions

All interested candidates should review the Criteria for Leadership document. The Board Nominating Questionnaire must also be completed. Applications will be accepted no later than Friday, August 7, 2020. Jennifer Rittler, AIA receives AIA Ohio 2020 Emerging Professional Award

Columbus architect Jennifer Rittler, AIA, is one of four recipients of the AIA Ohio 2020 Emerging Professional Award. The AIA Ohio Emerging Professional Award identifies and promotes exceptional accomplishments of Associate Members and Young Architect members and their continuing development within the profession. The AIA Ohio Board of Directors confers this award, which recognizes exemplary achievements and future promise of AIA Ohio members, in fulfilling the criteria in one or more areas of design, leadership in practice, leadership in education, or service.

At Moody Nolan Inc., Jennifer leads the development of designs that become wellness landmarks for communities across the country. Through a collaborative approach to design she integrates client/community feedback that infuse architecture with local authenticity.

In parallel with her project work, Jennifer tirelessly advocates for young professionals in Columbus. Through her dedication to AIA and other professional organizations she is a champion of serving her community.

 

 

Howard Blaisdell, AIA and Timothy Hawk, FAIA awarded the AIA Ohio 2020 Mentor Award

Howard Blaisdell, AIA

Howard Blaisdell, AIA, has been awarded the AIA Ohio 2020 Mentor Award. This award is granted annually to an individual who has demonstrated the ability to assist and mentor in their community. The AIA Ohio Honor Awards Jury noted, “Howard’s activities, over a long period of time and for a firm with wide-ranging work and results, are very strong. Every firm would desire to have at least one stellar person in this role, dedicated to teaching and influencing many different people.”

Blaisdell shares his strong knowledge of building codes, technical proficiency, and depth of construction experience with a broad population and he does so with patience, encouragement, and compassion. He is committed to sharing his knowledge with the emerging staff not just within his firm at Moody Nolan, but beyond.

Timothy Hawk, FAIA

Columbus architect Timothy Hawk, FAIA has been awarded the AIA Ohio 2020 Mentor Award. This award is granted annually to an individual who has demonstrated the ability to assist and mentor in their community. “The AIA Ohio Board of Directors was impressed by Tim’s dedication to the development of young people in the profession,” said AIA Ohio President, Mary Glowacki, AIA.

As principal at WSA, Hawk mentors emerging talent through leadership training programs. As an educator at Columbus State Community College, he recognizes the importance of a diverse student population, and he encourages promising students to consider a future in architecture. As a leader in the profession, Hawk has served his local AIA Chapter and at the Regional level, and now serves as a member of the AIA Board. As the National AIA Board liaison to AIAS, he mentors student leaders, and advocates for student voices.

Matt Toddy, AIA, Architect at Design Collective is seeking the office of President-Elect. Jennifer Rittler, AIA, Senior Associate at Moody Nolan, is seeking the office of Treasurer. Hannah Evwaraye, AIA, Project Architect at Moody Nolan  is seeking the office of Secretary. Jerome Scott, AIA, of Jerome M Scotts Architects, Melissa Olson, AIA, Senior Architect at Burns & McDonnell, and Nicholas Bittner, AIA, Principal Architect at BDT Architects & Designers, are seeking to fill two-year terms as Directors

The membership will have the opportunity to vote on the slate of nominations at the upcoming Annual Meeting. We're excited for the coming year!
