"Past, Present and Future, Rush Creek Village, Neighborhood in Harmony with Nature"

This presentation will focus on the state of Rush Creek Village and include fundamentals and technical aspects of existing conditions, the technical development of architectural elements for preserving this unique architecture as RCV enters the future within a historical neighborhood rooted in the past but planning for the future.
Objectives:
• Create awareness of the historical significance and preservation of unique historical neighborhood of outstanding design rooted in true American architecture - Genesis of Rush Creek Village, creators, and pioneers, The Meaning of RCV (Theodore van Fossen)
• Face challenging issues related to preserving the architecture in a constantly ever-changing and uncertain economy of which home owners relate, in maintaining an economical balance with the built environment, natural environment, and balancing sustainability.
• Construction Advances
• Restoration/Preservation: Achieve restoration of the building without degradation or undesirable and unintended consequences.
• Preserve historic, cultural, and natural aspects of national heritage and maintain an environment that is balancing architecture with nature; thus creating a balance among the past, present and future.
• To utilize the architectural significance of “Architecture Made in America,” to advance the history and future of Worthington, Ohio.

A tour, pre and post presentation of main gallery exhibit will be assisted by Jeff Haas, OSU assistant professor and Marcia Rees Conrad, AIA.

This event will include refreshments.

Rush Creek Village, located in the City of Worthington north of Columbus Ohio, is a neighborhood of over 44 houses nestled between two ravines. These homes were designed and built by three gifted Columbus residents whose respect for the land and architectural vision coincided with the principles of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian/ Organic Architecture.
