Howard Blaisdell, AIA and Timothy Hawk, FAIA awarded the AIA Ohio 2020 Mentor Award

Howard Blaisdell, AIA

Howard Blaisdell, AIA, has been awarded the AIA Ohio 2020 Mentor Award. This award is granted annually to an individual who has demonstrated the ability to assist and mentor in their community. The AIA Ohio Honor Awards Jury noted, “Howard’s activities, over a long period of time and for a firm with wide-ranging work and results, are very strong. Every firm would desire to have at least one stellar person in this role, dedicated to teaching and influencing many different people.”

Blaisdell shares his strong knowledge of building codes, technical proficiency, and depth of construction experience with a broad population and he does so with patience, encouragement, and compassion. He is committed to sharing his knowledge with the emerging staff not just within his firm at Moody Nolan, but beyond.

Timothy Hawk, FAIA

Columbus architect Timothy Hawk, FAIA has been awarded the AIA Ohio 2020 Mentor Award. This award is granted annually to an individual who has demonstrated the ability to assist and mentor in their community. “The AIA Ohio Board of Directors was impressed by Tim’s dedication to the development of young people in the profession,” said AIA Ohio President, Mary Glowacki, AIA.

As principal at WSA, Hawk mentors emerging talent through leadership training programs. As an educator at Columbus State Community College, he recognizes the importance of a diverse student population, and he encourages promising students to consider a future in architecture. As a leader in the profession, Hawk has served his local AIA Chapter and at the Regional level, and now serves as a member of the AIA Board. As the National AIA Board liaison to AIAS, he mentors student leaders, and advocates for student voices.
